Call summary
The Science and Technology Facilities Council, in partnership with CERN (the European Organisation for Nuclear Research), invites proposals for its business incubation centre scheme. Up to five new incubatees are accepted per year and funding is worth up to £40,000 for intellectual property protection, design, prototyping and market studies in addition to the use of CERN intellectual property, access to collaboration and networking opportunities and technical expertise, and wider access to potential sources of financial support.
Scientific scope
This offers support to entrepreneurs aiming to take high energy physics technologies from an initial innovative concept to market.
PI eligibility
Entrepreneurs, research groups, small start-up companies and academic staff wishing to set up a new company are eligible to apply. Applicants are not required to have a previous relationship with STFC or CERN to apply. The proposed idea should be innovative, technology driven and based on applying high energy physics technologies.
