Call summary

The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council invites applications for its research aligned with cybersecurity research institutes call. This supports research projects aligned with the four EPSRC-National Cyber Security Centre research institutes to develop cyber security capability in strategically important areas. The total budget is £7.5 million to fund eight or more projects. The full economic cost of the project can be up to £875,000 and may last for up to three years. EPSRC will fund 80 per cent of the full economic cost.

This supports research projects aligned with the four EPSRC-National Cyber Security Centre research institutes to develop cyber security capability in strategically important areas.

PI eligibility

Applicants must be residents in the UK and must be employed at the submitting research organisation at a level equivalent to lecturer or above, hold a fixed-term contract that extends beyond the duration of the proposed project, and the host research organisation is prepared to give them all the support normal for a permanent employee, hold an EPSRC, Royal Society or Royal Academy of Engineering fellowship aimed at later career stages or hold fellowships under other schemes. Holders of postdoctoral-level fellowships are not eligible to apply for an EPSRC grant. Research grants are open to UK HEIs, research council institutes, UKRI approved, independent research organisations, eligible public sector research establishments and NHS bodies with research capacity.
