Call summary
The Science and Technology Facilities Council invites applications for its telescope time grants. These support travel and subsistence costs related to telescope time, and the facilities are free at the point of access. Grants are worth at least £5,000 per year and support travel and subsistence costs. Requests should be for a two-year period. The following observatories are available for telescope time:
•facilities in direct receipt of STFC funds, such as Merlin, ING and LIVJM;
•facilities approved by the Panel for the Allocation of Telescope Time (PATT).

PI eligibility
Applicants must be permanent members of staff or otherwise hold a fully tenured post within an eligible UK institution. Observers are eligible to use the funds awarded in support of an approved programme of observations provided that they are: the PI or co-investigator or their nominated representative; a member of academic or research staff at the institution of the principal investigator; a student attached to an eligible institution whose credentials have firmly established them as bona fide observers.
