Call summary
The Science and Technology Facilities Council invites applications for its early stage research and development scheme. This supports low technology readiness levels with a focus on development in the particle physics, astronomy and nuclear physics community. The total budget is £1 million. Funding is available for up to three years.
Scientific scope
The project must encompass the broad areas of STFC’s remit, including:
•article physics;
•particle astrophysics;
•astronomy;
•nuclear physics;
•accelerator physics;
•solar and planetary science;
•computing that underpins these areas.
PI eligibility
Applicants must be eligible to hold UKRI grants and be based at UK HEIs, research council institutes or independent research organisations eligible for UKRI funding. Researchers in the STFC particle physics, astronomy and nuclear physics community who have been or currently are in receipt of STFC funding are invited to apply.
