Sony, under its research award programme, invites applications for its focused research award. The grant is worth up to USD 150,000 for up to one year.
Scientific scope
This supports collaborative research in the following focus areas:
•future network system and its fundamental core technology designs;
•novel actuator and mechanism for robots;
•autonomous mobile robot navigation;
•learning spatial-temporal bird's-eye-view representation from multiple sensor types;
•novel information display based on characteristics of the peripheral visual field;
•novel technologies for NIR-VCSELs;
•spatial-omics technologies;
•liquid biopsy;
•advanced image processing enabled by AI;
•machine learning-based digital human creation.
PI eligibility
Applicants must be full professors, associate professors, assistant professors or researchers that are qualified to supervise PhD students and based at a university in Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Germany, Finland, India, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, UK or the US.
