Call summary
The Natural Environment Research Council invites applications for its pushing the frontiers of environmental science research call. This supports projects in environmental science. Proposals should be applied, technology-led or policy-driven research but still address, or provide the means to address, clearly-defined scientific questions. The total budget £26 million. The full economic cost of the project may be up to £1m. Funding is typically worth up to 80 per cent of the full economic cost.
Scientific scope
Environmental Science. Multi and interdisciplinary research, designed, supported and delivered in partnership with other research funders and research users is encouraged.
PI eligibility
Individual researchers and research groups may apply. The PI must be a resident in the UK, employed by an eligible UK research organisations and employed at lecturer or equivalent level or above. Eligible UK research organisations include HEIs, research council institutes, recognised independent research organisations and public sector research establishments. International and non-academic collaborators can be involved as project partners. Investigators may be involved in no more than two proposals submitted submitted to this call and only one of these may be as the principal investigator.
