Call summary
Innovate UK and the Korea Institute for Advancement of Technology invite applications for their UK-South Korea collaborative research and development call. This supports collaborative research and development projects between organisations based in the UK and South Korea that focus on industrial research. The funded projects are expected to result in a new product, industrial process or service, be innovative, involve technological risk and have high market potential in the participating countries. The total budget is worth £2 million. Grants are worth up to £350,000 each and projects may last between 24 and 36 months. The grant may cover up to 70 per cent of total eligible project costs.
Scientific scope
The project must focus on one or more of the following sectors:
•advanced manufacturing and materials;
•artificial intelligence;
•clean energy, specifically battery technologies, hydrogen mobility technologies, and future vehicles.
PI eligibility
Applications are welcomed from UK registered businesses of any size. Lead organisations must either be or involve at least one grant claiming UK registered micro, small or medium-sized enterprise. The organisation must collaborate with a South Korea registered business, which must be a separate non-linked entity to the UK project partners. Academic institutions cannot lead a project, but they and research and technology organisations may collaborate with lead organisations.
