Call summary
Innovate UK, through the Small Business Research Initiative, invites applications for its fusion industry challenges call. This supports innovation in the fusion industry through the use of novel and innovative heating and cooling systems, materials, manufacturing and technologies. The total budget is worth £2 million, to support up to 10 projects. Phase 1 projects can have total costs between £50,000 and £200,000 each.
Scientific scope
Nuclear Physics; Nuclear Power, Technology & Engineering; Plasma Physics & Fusion. This competition has two themes:
•driving up fusion power plant performance with innovative heating and cooling systems;
•improving fusion power plant availability with novel fusion materials, technology, and manufacture.
PI eligibility
Organisations of any size may apply. They may work alone or with others from business, research organisations, research and technology organisations or other sectors as subcontractors
