Call summary

Innovate UK, part of UK Research and Innovation, in collaboration with the National Physical Laboratory, invites applications for its innovation in time resilience, dissemination and application - feasibility call. This supports early-stage feasibility projects that contribute to resilient time, frequency and synchronisation and its dissemination and application. The combined budget for this and another strand of the competition is £4.7 million. Grants are worth between £50,000 and £250,000 each for between six and 12 months.

Scientific scope

Medicine & Health; Physical Sciences and Engineering. Projects must be focused on one or more of the following development areas: products; services; protocols and algorithms; standards. Interoperability for international use is of particular interest, as are projects that include one or more industry sectors and those involving cross-sector technologies such as those contributing to telecommunication technologies or timing over digital networks.

PI eligibility

The lead organisation must be a UK registered business of any size. All project work must be carried out in the UK and the results must be intended to be exploited from or in the UK. Collaborative applications involving other businesses, a research and technology organisation, academic institution, public sector organisation, charity or a not-for-profit organisation are accepted.
