Call summary
The Key Digital Technologies Joint Undertaking invites applications for its HORIZON-KDT-JU-2021-2-IA innovation actions call. This aims to reinforce industrial competitiveness by supporting the growth of existing partnerships or fostering new partnerships on technologies that already are at technology readiness levels 5 to 8. Projects should focus on high impact, Europe-wide collaboration with a mixed participation of large enterprise, SMEs and academia. Expected outputs are novel technologies, pilot lines, large-scale demonstrators and platforms for innovative product developments. The total budget is €128m. Funding is worth up to €25 million per project.
Scientific scope
The call is open to the following topics:
•process technology, equipment, materials and manufacturing;
•components, modules and systems integration;
•embedded software and beyond;
•system of systems;
•AI, edge computing and advanced control;
•connectivity;
•architecture and design – methods and tools;
•quality, reliability, safety and cybersecurity;
•mobility;
•energy;
•digital industry;
•health and wellbeing;
•agrifood and natural resources;
•digital society.
The call also includes the following focus topic:
HORIZON-KDT-JU-1-IA-Focus-Topic-1 – development of open sources RISC-V building blocks
PI eligibility
Innovation actions require participation by at least three legal entities; each established in a different EU member state or Horizon Europe associated country. Projects may include up to 70 participants.
