Call summary

The Key Digital Technologies Joint Undertaking invites proposals for its KDT-JU-2021-3-CSA call for a pan-European chip infrastructure for design innovation. This supports the establishment of European Union scientific excellence and innovation leadership in emerging components and systems technologies, including in activities related to lower technology readiness levels, and promotes the active involvement of SMEs. The total budget is €10 million.

Scientific scope

Proposals are expected to contribute to the following outcomes: •establish a platform that nurtures the growth of a design ecosystem in Europe; •ease of the access to training, customer support, intellectual property and leading-edge design tools; •support efficient fabrication of application-specific integrated circuits, photonics, micro-electromechanical systems, and sensors, and their integration at system level; •support technology offerings of research centres with lower TRL to be promoted over the platform; •proposal for long-term operation of the platform to support universities and European research centres.

PI eligibility

Proposals must take the form of coordination and support actions, which require one or more legal entities established in an EU member state, Horizon Europe associated country or, in exceptional cases, another third country.
