Call summary
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council invites applications for its call to create a national research facility for epitaxy. This supports the creation of a national research facility for epitaxy. The facility will need to be capable of providing epitaxial wafers over a range of materials, primarily using molecular beam epitaxy and metal-organic vapour phase epitax. Funding is worth up to £12 million over five years.

PI eligibility
The submitting research institution must be either a UK HEI, a research council institute, a UKRI-approved independent research organisation, a public sector research establishment or a NHS body with research capacity. The PI must be a UK resident and either: employed at the submitting research organisation at a level equivalent to lecturer or above; on a fixed-term contract that extends beyond the duration of the proposed project, and the host research organisation is prepared to give them all the support normal for a permanent employee; hold an EPSRC, Royal Society or Royal Academy of Engineering fellowship aimed at later career stages; hold fellowships under other schemes. Academics who job share, have a part-time contract, need flexible working arrangements or are currently committed to other longer, large existing grants are encouraged to apply. Holders of postdoctoral level fellowships are not eligible to apply.
