Call summary

Innovate UK invites applications for its knowledge transfer partnerships. These enable businesses to collaborate with educational institutions and bring new skills and the latest academic thinking into the business partner to deliver a specific, strategic innovation project. Each partnership is a three-way collaboration between a business, an academic institution and graduate students. The total budget is £8 million. Projects may last between one and three years. Typically, projects cost no more than £75,000 per year. The business partner must pay a portion of the project’s total cost.

UK registered higher education or further education institutions, RTOs or Catapults may apply as the knowledge base partner and project lead. The business partner must be a be a UK registered business, of any size, or a not-for-profit organisation. The knowledge base partner must invite a business partner and neither can work alone. The knowledge base partner will recruit on to two graduates to work on the project.
