Innovate UK, GB and other funders: Automotive Transformation Fund – feasibility studies

Innovate UK invites expressions of interest for its automotive transformation fund. This supports the industrialisation of a high value, electrified automotive supply at scale in the UK. Each application may focus on capital and associated R&D activity or capital investment only. Proposals must prioritise the scale up in areas mentioned in the automotive transformation strategy, which includes batteries, electric motors and drives, power electronics, fuel cells, upstream supply chain for batteries including cells, electric motors and drives, power electronics or fuel cells. The total budget is worth up to £1 billion. The proportion of funding provided depends on organisation and project type.

Projects must prioritise scale up and can focus on but not be limited to: •batteries, including cells; •electric motors and drives; •power electronics; •fuel cells and on-vehicle hydrogen storage; •upstream supply chain for batteries including cells, electric motors and drives, power electronics or fuel cells and on-vehicle hydrogen storage.

The lead organisation must be a UK registered business. They may collaborate with other UK organisations and must carry out project work in the country. Academic institutions cannot lead or work alone.
